Members of La Pocha Nostra (Guillermo Gómez-Peña, Saula Garcia Lopez, and Balitronica Gómez) along with VestAndPage (Verena Stenke and Andrea Pagnes), invite collaborators to explore concepts of paganism, ritualism, and post-modern concepts of home and belonging in Riga, Latvia. This work will be presented by the No New Idols festival, a program of the Sculpture Quadrennial Riga.

Together with these core members of La Pocha Nostra and VestAndPage, and along with radical performance art curators Justin Charles Hoover (USA) and Francesca Carol Rolla (IT/ES), participants will explore psychomagic, a poetics of relations, and the creation of alternative artistic communities within the city of Riga. This transcontinental collaboration aims to set foundations for radical interaction and new terms of cultural exchange.

Interested applicants are encouraged to submit their application in advance of the deadline. We will be accepting applicants on a rolling basis and space is expected to fill. This is an unpaid opportunity to work under the direction of master artists Guillermo Gómez-Peña, artistic director of the acclaimed troupe La Pocha Nostra, and artist duo VestAndPage, founders of the Venice International Performance Art Week, Venice, Italy. Applicants must be available to rehearse and perform in Riga, Latvia, May 27 – May 30, 2019. Selected participants are responsible for their own travel and living costs.
