The Battle of the Books lists are created each year by a committee of volunteers from around the state. The committee members read titles and meet periodically throughout the school year, and finalize the list for the following school year in January or February.
Each year, our committees balance a variety of factors when selecting the titles, including selecting recently published titles to ensure they haven't already been read by many students, and choosing a diverse array of genres and character representations. While we cannot guarantee that a title you suggest will make the list, we will seriously consider every suggestion and weigh it against our selection criteria and other nominated titles. Thank you for your suggestion!
