Sign up to Join Young People Across the Country in Calling our Senators
Join young people across the country as we inundate the U.S. Senate with calls urging the passage of the Equality Act.
We'll jump on Zoom for an update on the Equality Act from experts in Washington, D.C., and learn why Senators need to hear young voices in particular. Next, a student activist from an Advocates for Youth organizing program will demonstrate how to effectively call their senators. Then we all start calling, and participants can feel free to ask questions at any time. That’s it. Shouldn't take more than 30 minutes.
We’ve heard two things from our friends on Capitol Hill that are concerning:
1) That Senators are unsure if LGBTQ folks, especially youth, deserve fairness at school, work, and in other public settings.
2) That some Democratic Senators are misinformed about the Equality Act and what it might mean for LGBTQ youth.
Senators on both sides of the aisle need to feel the pressure to act! And the only people they’ll listen to right now are the people they represent - YOU! So RSVP below, and bring a friend or two along to call with you.
