CSz Philadelphia, home of ComedySportz, Philly’s longest-running improv comedy show, is seeking experienced improvisers for its Improv Double Feature Long Form Teamz. Deadline to submit is August, 21st.
This Fall, the Improv Double Feature will be producing two new Long Form Teamz, with August auditions, September rehearsals, and shows running from October 2025 to February 2026 the first two Fridays of each month.
- THE HOTEL, We make a visit to an old hotel where the loyal (if slightly clueless) staff navigate the tedious and endless demands of the eccentric guests. "The Hotel" itself is its own character offering insights not easily gleaned. The show draws inspiration from all of our shared experiences with travel, hospitality, and of course our not so normal human interactions.
(Dir.) Darryl Spencer was recently an Apprentice Director of the CSz Longform Double Feature show Tip of the Cap, and performed in Dun Dun at ComedySportz in 2023, and stays performing with several other improv teams in and around the region. Darryl coaches and directs 2 improv teams, one in Montco and one in Princeton, and will be teaching improv basics at a local adult evening class this fall.
- TESCHMACHER, An Armando type show, with a montage of scenes based on an audience member interview. Pulling from the offers inside of the audience interview, the show will make use of characters and themes as they expand into new and familiar worlds with all the tools of the trade: callbacks, tag runs, sweeps, scene painting, cut edits and more.
(Dir.) Don Montrey joined ComedySportz in 2002 and was Executive Director from 2012-2024. He created and hosted the comedy shows DIE, ACTOR, DIE, The Dirtiest Sketch in Philadelphia and the NED Talks: Funny People Talking About Funny Things. For 13 years, Don was the Head News Writer for 1812 Productions’ This Is The Week That Is.

Auditions will be in small groups of 6 people and will be a mix of improvised warm-up games and longform scenes with prompts.

Compensation: Performers are voluntary positions and will receive 2 comp tickets for the duration of the run.
Commitment: Performers in the Improv Double Feature Long-form Teamz are expected to attend 8 out of 10 performances and 5 rehearsals as scheduled.
Show dates: First two Fridays of the month, October-February: 10/3, 10/10, 11/7, 11/14, 12/5, 12/12, 1/2, 1/9, 2/6, 2/13
