UC San Diego Chairs Challenge Application

The Physics Department is now accepting applications for awards to support attendance and presentations at Physics conferences taking place during the 2025–2026 academic year.

This year, the department will match your advisor’s contribution up to $500 (depending on available funding).

Because funds are limited, priority will be given in the following order:

  1. Physics students presenting at a conference

  2. Junior and Senior Physics majors

  3. Graduate students without an advisor

  4. Graduate students with Physics advisors

Important requirements

  • Travel must be pre-approved and registered in Concur before departure.

  • Receipts must be submitted within 45 days of return.

Awards not meeting either of these requirements will be forfeited.
