For those who are NOT familiar with what "Circles" are about: What’s a CIRCLE? It’s the name we use for a group of women within the church who gather for fellowship on a regular basis. When a Circle is established, the group decides when they will meet, where they will meet, and what will be the focus of their activities. At Covenant, four of the Circles focus on service, and the results of their projects go to mission efforts. Many of the Circles use a bible study. This high-quality study is created and reviewed by Presbyterian Women and clergy at the national and local level. Bible study leaders can attend a preparatory meeting led by Rev. Katie Kinnison. Conceivably, more Circles could skip the study and focus on mission work, social justice activism, or faithful discussion.
Why join a Circle? A girl needs friends, ya know? This is a great way to make deeper friendships and to deepen your faith in a smaller group. The supportive, warm environment is hard to match. Your friends at Circle can be conduits for the Holy Spirit to give support through prayer, wisdom, or kindness. Through this, the Holy Spirit will help end burn-out, comfort sorrow, or even subtly redirect us. All this, while you learn and laugh!
Why Survey ALL Covenant Women? Because our set of Circle Offerings need to EVOLVE to meet the needs of our current congregation. Let's start some new Circles that will be right for YOU!
