Level 1:
Skill Level: No to limited understanding of basic skills, rules, and positions. Player may struggle with basic ball control, passing, and positioning.
Experience: Less than 1 year of experience playing competitive youth soccer or recreational or
higher adult soccer.
Level 2:
Skill Level: Limited understanding of rules and positions. Player can perform basic skills (dribbling, passing) but may lack consistency or struggle with decision-making in game situations.
Experience: Several years of competitive youth soccer or 1-3 years of recreational or higher adult soccer.
Level 3:
Skill Level: Understands basic rules and positions. Comfortable playing 1 position and has a solid grasp of fundamental skills. Player demonstrate consistency in their performance and can contribute to team play, but may need to refine advanced techniques or tactical awareness.
Experience: Several years of competitive youth soccer through high school (JV or Varsity) or 2+ years of competitive (intermediate or advanced level) adult soccer.
Level 4:
Skill Level: Solid understanding of rules and positions. Comfortable playing multiple positions
and demonstrating advanced technical skills (passing, shooting, defending). Player shows strong decision-making, good positioning, and tactical awareness, but still refining consistency and higher-level decision-making.
Experience: Advanced-level competitive youth soccer or 2+ years of recreational or adult soccer with strong performance in higher leagues.
Level 5:
Skill Level: Strong understanding and mastery of rules, positions, and tactics. Consistent
performance with excellent technical and tactical abilities. Player is versatile, demonstrates
leadership on the field, and consistently performs at a high level in competitive matches.
Experience: High-level soccer experience in advanced adult leagues or competitive youth programs (e.g., MLS Next, ECNL, NPL), as well as experience in college-level soccer (Community College or Division III).
Level 6:
Skill Level: Mastery of all technical and tactical aspects of the game. Player excels in high-pressure situations, demonstrate leadership, and contribute to advanced team strategies. Highly consistent and capable of playing at an elite level, with deep understanding of the game and advanced decision-making skills.
Experience: College-level soccer (NAIA, Div I, II, or III) semi-pro experience, or high-level youth soccer (MLS Next, ECNL, NPL).
