Thank you for your interest in curating an event at Coaxial Arts Foundation. Our staff reviews requests weekly.
Please do not contact Coaxial staff directly concerning the status of your request. Please read in full before considering an event with us.
- We are primarily interested in experimental, electronic, and unconventional musics, performance art, conceptual art, workshops, pop-up installations, video art, and screenings. Due to both spatial and technical limitations we cannot accommodate and do not encourage rock bands or submissions that consist of multiple full bands. Touring artists are encouraged to connect with local promoters who can facilitate events with complete lineups.
- Traditionally, we book events 2-3 months in advance, with a limited number of bookings per month. We cannot consider short notice or last minute bookings.
- Only fully curated line-ups of 3-5 music acts will be considered. If you are a single act or band on tour, please work with a local promoter to curate a full lineup for the event. Please include detailed information about your event – requests that lack fully realized lineups or substantial information are unlikely to be considered. If your event exceeds 3-5 performers, we need to know at the time of your original submission with as much detail as possible. The typical run time of a show is between 3- 5 hours with 2 hours of setup time before. If you are proposing a pop up installation, screening or performance art event with a single artist or group, please consider the length of the event.
- All shows must have a $10 minimum door charge, we cannot allow sliding scales. While we will always honor NOTAFLOF, we ask that this not be overtly stated in any promotional material and kept only for those who are truly in need. Ticket sales are how artists are paid for their work and how we pay to staff events and keep the space running. If you are interested in booking an event that is under $10 or free admittance, please consider renting the space for the evening.
- If you are interested in potentially renting the space for a private event or film/photo shoot, please contact events@coaxialarts.org
- Promotional materials -- flier design, artist copy including bios and social media links, and complete show info -- must be submitted via this promotional form three weeks before your event. We reserve the right to cancel any event that does not deliver promo materials within this timeframe.
- While we promote events via our own channels it is ultimately the responsibility of the promoter/organizer and the performers to promote their own shows.
- Coaxial will host an RSVP/Ticketing page on WithFriends.co/Coaxial. For tax and grant purposes, we must use our own ticketing links and cannot allow alternate ticketing options (Eventbrite, Resident Advisor, etc). All
payouts to artists happen digitally, after the event via PayPal, after
all sales are totaled. We will provide a door person to manage
ticketing, but it is the curator/promoters responsibility to
provide Coaxial staff with all artists' PayPal info BEFORE departing at
the end of your night.
- Coaxial will provide an Audio/Visual technician to run
sound for your event. Our performance space includes a ceiling-mounted
4.1 QSC sound system, 22-channel Mackie soundboard, HDMI/Composite
Panasonic projector w/screen, and DMX-controlled RGBWAUV lighting. We can
also provide folding tables, extension cables & power strips, XLR
& 1/4" cables, various converters, microphones & DI boxes. You must provide a list of tech needs to our event managers at least two days before your event.
Form submission does not guarantee event approval. Events are reviewed weekly, and you will receive a response regarding your event in due time. Please do not e-mail the space or staff in regards to event requests.
Please notify us if you have any needs to
accommodate artists or audience members with disabilities. Our gallery
space, patio and bathroom are all ADA accessible. We are happy to supply
chairs if needed.
