Interested in Camping or Lodging Friday Night?
Check all that interest you. Some participants may choose to get an early start by driving up on Friday, camping overnight, and hiking to the lodge Saturday morning. If enough people are interested, we may reserve a site or two at a nearby campground. There are also many places to car-camp in the area, as well a hostel and motels.
Safety & Liability
Each participant MUST bring a map of the Adirondack High Peaks, a compass, and know how to use them! While this event is organized for ADK Young Members, it is not a 'led' trip which means that the neither the Adirondack Mountain Club nor the trip's organizers are responsible for your well-being during whatever activities you choose to participate in during the outing. Please be aware of the risks inherent in your chosen activity(s) and pick something that coincides with your level of skill. If you are unfamiliar with the area, there will be others on the trip to offer suggestions, as well as numerous guidebooks. Additionally, the staff at Johns Brook Lodge can guide you towards appropriate trails. However their suggestions are no guarantee of safety. By participating in this outing, I shall conduct myself in a mature, respectful and responsible manner.
