RSVP for the 2026 Democracy Dinners
Please fill out this form (and mark your calendar!) to RSVP for any of Learning Life's five Democracy Dinners in 2026.  Full details, including location, parking and dinner menu, to come via email to those who RSVP.  Seating is limited.  

2026 Dinner dates (all Saturdays, 6-9pm) and topics:
Feb 21: Fostering partnerships between DMV universities and colleges, and the DMV Democracy Learning Community
Apr 25: Strengthening democracy in the DMV through civic games
Jun 27: Developing DMV democracy markets
Aug 22: Getting DMV 8th-12th graders involved in policy making
Nov 14: Connecting DMV schools and communities through civic education

Dinner schedule: 
6:00-7:00: Guests arrive.  Reception with appetizers.
7:00-7:20: Settle in for dinner, then go around for brief introductions.
7:20-8:00: Reports from individuals and organizations doing democracy work.
8:00-9:00: Dessert served. Presentation and discussion on the Dinner's topic.
9:00-10:00: Mingling while Learning Life staff clean up.   

Child care is available on the premises at each Democracy Dinner, at no additional charge.  Let us know in the form below if you will need child care.  
 
Once you have RSVP'd below, please pay the Dinner fee at this link. When you pay, add the note "for Democracy Dinner."  

Dinner fee: 
$25 for students, retirees, and individuals unemployed or with gross annual income below $60,000.
$50 for working individuals with gross income of $60,000 or more.
$90 for couples, or friend/colleague pairs, or parent and child.
$100 for families of three or more

All proceeds cover some of the cost of the Dinners and the wider DMV Democracy Learning Community (DLC).  The Dinner fee is not tax deductible because of the material benefits conferred.    

Note: Members of the Democracy & Diplomacy Community, encompassing all three of Learning Life's programs, including the DLC, get one Democracy Dinner per year included in the price of their membership.

In the first half of each Democracy Dinner, individuals and organizations doing democracy work of some kind at local to global levels have the opportunity to briefly (1-3 minutes) report on what they are up to.  If you would like to report on what you or your organization is up to related to democracy, please indicate your  organization's name and website address, OR briefly, your individual work (research, policy advocacy, community organizing, educational programming, etc.).
