Continuing Professional Development for Renewal of Registered Electrical Worker (19)This CPD aims to:1.Apply renewal for Registered Electrical Worker (REW) with Electrical and Mechanical Services Department (EMSD);
2.Introduce the relevant Electricity Ordinances, Electricity (Registration) Regulations and Electricity (Wiring) Regulations;
3.Provide the knowledge in safety requirement in conducting electrical work;
4.Provide the knowledge in energy efficiency requirements for electrical installation with Building Energy Code.
REW apply renewal on or after 1 January 2012 is required to have completed a training covering the following modules before submitting the application:
1. Statutory and Safety Requirements on Electrical Work-Legislative requirements in Electricity Ordinance, Electricity (Registration) Regulations, and Electricity (Wiring) Regulations;
-Safety requirements in conducting electrical work.
2. Building Energy Code for Electrical Installation-Energy efficiency through design and monitoring
-Select energy efficient components to be integrated into electrical installation
-Reduce power distribution losses, energy wastage and better utilization
-Metering devices to provide information for better power management and utilization
-Identify power quality problems and apply appropriate solutions
-Facilitating energy audits
