Would you like to join an ECDC working group that focuses on ways that public school districts can help prepare children and families for kindergarten and support families in building babies' and toddlers' brains? We meet on the first Wednesday of each month at 2:00 via zoom. Our first meeting was April 2, 2025.
Specific projects/discussion topics may include:
- Developing short/small flyers/electronic messaging with resources & info for families with young children (i.e., limit screen time & why, QR codes to resources like Vroom, developmental
milestones, why reading books together/to them is important) - THIS TOPIC ADDRESSED APRIL - OCTOBER 2025! STILL PROMOTING MESSAGING
Practicing developmentally appropriate instruction while also meeting academic standards
Strengthening trust between families and school staff
Providing appropriate services for children's special needs
Strengthening relationships among public school and early childhood program staff
Learning about and preparing for COVID-19's effects on brain development of children born in 2019-2020
