1. Project Overview

The Community Funeral Support Fund (CFSF) is a charitable initiative under the umbrella of QUBA Masjid and Education Centre, designed to ease the financial burden on families during times of grief. By pooling resources through a membership-based contribution system, the project ensures that funeral expenses for members are covered, fostering a sense of solidarity and mutual support among the community. The project is only for charitable cause and not for profit making purposes.

2. Objectives

To provide financial assistance to cover funeral costs for community members.
To promote solidarity and support among the members during times of loss.
To operate as a non-profit, volunteer-driven initiative ensuring transparency and accountability.
To honour and uphold the dignity of deceased individuals within the community.

3. Membership Structure

Membership Contribution: £300 annually per family.
Eligibility: Membership is open to families residing in London. Each member’s household will benefit from the funeral cost coverage in the event of a family member's death.
The membership registration will be activated after three months of the membership contribution.
After membership expires the members should pay the contribution within the first five days of the month.

4. Terms and Conditions

Membership fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.
The coverage is limited to immediate family members (to be specified upon registration).
The fund contribution is strictly reserved for registered members only and cannot be used by anyone who is not a registered member.

5. Funeral Coverage

The average cost of a funeral in the UK is £5,000. The project guarantees coverage of this expense for deceased members of registered families.
Funds collected through contributions will be utilised exclusively for funeral-related expenses.

6. Registration Process

Families interested in becoming members must complete a simple registration form, providing details of immediate family members. (Father, Mother and children who are not married).

Membership fees are due annually and can be paid via:

  • Direct debit
  • Bank transfer
  • In-person payment at QUBA Masjid and Education Centre

7. Operational Guidelines

Upon the death of a member or an eligible family member, the family must notify the project team immediately.
The team will verify membership and initiate the disbursement of funds to cover funeral expenses.
Any surplus funds after funeral expenses will remain in the fund for future use.
