The USDOT awarded three cooperative agreements collectively worth more than $45 million to initiate a Design/Build/Test/Deploy Connected Vehicle (CV) Pilot Deployment Program to three agencies: Wyoming DOT (WYDOT), New York City DOT (NYCDOT), and Tampa Hillsborough Expressway Authority (THEA). From September 2015 to September 2016, each site prepared a comprehensive deployment concept to ensure a rapid and efficient connected vehicle capability roll-out. Now the three sites are wrapping up Phase 2 where they have worked to design, build, and test these deployments of integrated wireless in-vehicle, mobile device, and roadside technologies.
WEBINAR DETAILS:This session will discuss the connected vehicle devices being acquired and installed as part of the Tampa (THEA) pilot deployment. Representatives from the Tampa (THEA) team will provide an overview of their approach to identifying the type and number of devices, equipment, and software-based capabilities that needed to be acquired for their pilot. This webinar will also address their approach to engaging with vendors and getting the devices in hand and installed while adhering to a stringent installation schedule.
