TPU Paper Studio Rental Proposal
Thank you for your interest in renting the paper studio at The Patchwork Underground. Please fill out the following questionnaire so that I can better understand your project and your needs.

How many days will you need? A rental day includes up to 1 hour to beat one batch of pulp, 3 hours of time to pull sheets and load the dryer and 2 hours for cleanup. Generally a day runs from 10am-4pm.  *
Do you have a date(s) in mind?  *
What type of fibers will you be working with? i.e. Are you using dry sheets of abaca or cotton linter? Old fabric that will be repurposed? Or will you be working with raw plant material such as iris or kudzu? *
If you are working with raw plant material, will you be processing the plants before your rental day? Or will you need access to tools for cutting, cooking, and rinsing your plant material as a part of your rental? Note this would happen on one day and pulling sheets would happen on a second day. Please include any information that you have about the plants that you are working with.
Do you plan to bring inclusions (pressed flowers or string, etc), pigments for coloring your pulp, or other additives? If so, list them here. *
A basic day of rental starts at $100*. Are you interested in any of these add-ons? Check all that may apply. (Additional fees will vary based on project. This is not a commitment that you will need these things. It just gives me an idea of your plans.)

*If the rental fee is prohibitive, there are options for sliding scale and work trade opportunities. As a personal reparations practice, BIPOC identifying folks can choose a sliding scale fee between $30 and $60 before add-ons. Please make a note of needs in the "other" option below.

I currently have mould and deckle sets that are 5.5.x 8, 8 x 11 and a 20 x 28 deckle box. Will these sizes work for what you want to create? *
Are you bringing any of your own equipment or tools (mould and deckle set, pellons, etc)? *
Do you intend to restrain dry your paper? This could take up to 48 hours and is included in the cost of the rental. Will you be able to pick it up within a week of your rental day or will you need it mailed to you? Note that you would be responsible for paying for any shipping charges associated with mailing your paper. *
The paper studio is set up outside. With the exception of the restraint dryer, all work will take place outside. There will be a 10 x 10 tent provided for you if you choose to use it.  *
