Why do you want to create a Global Voices site in your language? *
Please provide your personal expression of interest, as well as why you think it would be important to have a Lingua site in your language in a social context.
About your language
What is the current state of your language? *
Please let us know about the number of speakers, the current state of the language online, written alphabet, technical support for the language (i.e. keyboard), consensus on how it is written, etc.
Do you already have a team of people you contacted and interested in joining you? If so, how many people? *
We welcome people interested in translating, writing, helping with management and social media, both on a professional and amateur level. If you don't have a team ready, we will let you know later if we have more people interested in creating the site, as it is a team effort.
Please list their names and contact details. *
What do you think will motivate volunteers to join the project? *
For example: Is volunteering popular in your country? Is Global Voices known?

Can you commit to the translation manager role for at least 6 months? *
Volunteer Translation Managers are in charge of overseeing the reviewing and publishing of translations, recruiting, community management,  and regular communication with the Lingua team, as well as marketing the translations and the site.
If you are committed to being a translation manager, do you know people who can help with the following? *
Are you equipped with a laptop/desktop and wifi? *
What are other online communities that speak your language?
If you are not committed to being a translation manager, and you are not able to recruit a team to help build the site, we will let you know when we have other applicants :)
When can your start? *
We anticipate at least three months of preparation before launch.
