BCC Show Submission Form - 2025
Thank you for submitting your show to the BCC! The BCC showcases fearless and irreverent live comedy with a strong point of view. We celebrate bold, risk-taking shows and strive to foster and promote the Brooklyn comedy community by creating a welcome space for artistic experimentation.

We produce shows on three different stages within a two minute walk of one another on Tues-Sunday nights in East Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Each stage has unique tech capabilities and capacity. Our options for stages are:

-Mainstage @ Eris (167 Graham Ave, Brooklyn) is an elevated proscenium stage to host high-production shows with full A/V tech provided (BCC technician provided along with equipment such as keyboard, wired and LAV wireless mics) and and can host up to 120 audience members.

-Deep Space @ Eris (167 Graham Ave, Brooklyn) is a blackbox theater with minimal tech (only two mics available by request, a simple blackout function, & an aux cord for basic music cues). The space can host up to 60 people and has an intimate basement dungeon vibe.

-The Pig Pen (144 Boerum St, Brooklyn - FRI/SAT shows only) is a cozy space featuring a half-moon stage and A/V tech (though BCC does not provide a tech, you can operate simple audio or visual cues via provided projector, sound board, wired mics, and keyboard) and can host up to 60 audience members.

These are our current show slots:

- Tuesday @ 7:00PM (Mainstage/Deep Space)

-Wednesday @ 7:00 PM (Deep Space)
-Wednesday @ 8:30 PM (Deep Space)

-Thursday @ 7:00 PM (Mainstage/Deep Space)
-Thursday @ 8:30 PM (Mainstage/Deep Space)

-Friday @ 7:00 PM (Mainstage/Deep Space/Pig Pen)
-Friday @ 8:30 PM (Mainstage/Deep Space/Pig Pen)

-Saturday @ 7:00 PM (Mainstage/Deep Space/Pig Pen)
-Saturday @ 8:30 PM (Mainstage/Deep Space/Pig Pen)

-Sundays @ 7:00 PM (Mainstage/Deep Space/Pig Pen)
-Sundays @ 8:30 PM (Mainstage/Deep Space/Pig Pen)

Ticket Pricing:
MAINSTAGE (2 options):
1) $12 pre-sale ticket price / $17 day-of ticket price (both online and at the door)
2) $15 pre-sale ticket price / $20 day-of ticket price (both online and at the door)
3) $20 pre-sale / day-of price (only for shows that know you will 100% sell out)
  • The higher ticket price is a good option if you think you can sell at that price and in turn receive a bigger payout for your efforts. We also want to offer shows with differing overhead costs and prep-work/production needs more flexibility in pricing.
DEEP SPACE/PIG PEN:
-$10 pre-sale / $15 day-of ticket price (both online and at the door)

Tech:
BCC provides one of our trained techs for Mainstage shows only. Tech-heavy shows are usually programmed in the earlier time slot each night (to allow for additional set-up time / run-through one hour before the show starts). Additional techs can be scheduled at no charge for the space based on availability (usually Wednesdays @ 4:00-6:00 PM, Sat/Sundays @ 3:00-6:00 PM, otherwise up to Eris' discretion) but Producer is responsible for directly compensating the BCC technician at their own hourly rate.
**There is NO tech provided in the Deep Space or Pig Pen, other than BCC House Managers blacking out to end your show/set, though simple cues can be run by Producer/member of the cast on equipment provided.

The Fine Print:
-All slots are 60 minutes each with a max run-time of 75 minutes.
-The BCC provides online ticketing with check in at the door, as well as credit card/cash sales at the door.
-Sets must be minimal in design. Prop storage is a possibility on a case-by-case basis with approval.
-All shows are 21+ at Eris / 18+ at Pig Pen
-Eris operates a full bar where patrons can purchase drinks during shows. There is no alcohol allowed at the Pig Pen (non-alcoholic beverages available).
-There are unlimited comp tickets for industry, and 5 personal comps (Pig Pen/Deep Space) or 8 personal (Mainstage) for the cast to use per show.
-Students enrolled in full-length classes at The BCC get into all shows free on a standby basis.

Payout:
- Producers at the BCC earn a percentage of the box office, which can then be passed along to your cast members/performers at your own discretion.
-Producer gets 60% of box office after a cover of $150 in ticket sales (Mainstage) or $100 (Deep Space/Pig Pen). BCC keeps 40% of the profits after the cover is met. We will pay you within three weeks of your show. Sold-out shows make on average $1,000 on the Mainstage and on average $400 in Pig Pen/Deep Space.
-If you produce a show that sells less than the cover, you are responsible for paying the rest of that balance to the BCC either in cash, venmo, or paypal. BCC uses that first $150/$100 cover in ticket sales toward covering our staff costs, so it's imperative that this goal is met.

We welcome a variety of show submission, including but not limited to:
-One-Act Plays or Musicals
-Sketch Revues
-Improv/Musical Improv
-Solo Shows
-Stand-up/Storytelling
-Variety Shows
-Clown Shows
Note: We are not currently offering monthly/weekly slots to new show submissions. All slots are considered one-offs with the potential to be rebooked depending on if we feel the show is a great fit going forward and sells well.

All submissions are reviewed by Maya Sharma (Associate Director). If we decide to produce your show, it may take us up to two months to get back to you, as we are typically programmed one month in advance. Anyone is welcome to submit, though we prioritize submissions from people we already know in our community - be it students in our classes or performers in existing shows - and shows that we feel would be a good match for our audience and tone of the theater. Due to the volume of submissions, we may not be able to respond to every submission we receive.
