Button Poetry's September 2025 Short Form Contest
Welcome to the September edition of the Button Poetry Short Form Contest! We're excited to offer this free submission opportunity for you to have a chance to share your words with poetry lovers around the world.

All you have to do is submit the following:

1) A short, ORIGINAL poem or excerpt from an original poem (250 characters or less)

2) Your name and public Instagram handle for credit and tagging.

3) Your email address to join the Button Poetry mailing list.

We will make graphics of the winning pieces to publish on the @buttonpoetry Instagram page: http://instagram.com/buttonpoetry

Submissions open Friday, September 26th and close at 11:59 PM PST Sunday, September 28th.

Only ONE submission is allowed per person! Multiple entries will be disqualified. If you are experiencing difficulty submitting, you will not be disqualified for submitting the same poem.  

This contest is open to ANYONE from ANYWHERE in the world! Submissions must be primarily in English.

Characters include spaces and punctuation.

You will see confirmation once submitting. If you do not, we recommend resubmitting your poem on a different device or in a different browser. We've probably still received your submission, but if you would like confirmation, please re-submit - multiple attempts to submit the same piece won't disqualify you.

Only selected poets will be directly contacted, and will be given the chance to amend any errors in their submission.
