Certain risks are inherent in any outdoor activity. As an OLLI-USF SIG member, you agree to accept personal responsibility for your safety and the safety of your guest. You are responsible for participating only in activities according to your physical conditioning and skill level. Read the event description, do your own research, and follow the event guidelines before participating. These guidelines include:

*Bringing plenty of water and packing a high energy, or similar, snack.

*Bringing any medicines/treatments required routinely, such as an inhaler, and/or required to treat specific conditions that may arise, such as an allergy to bee sting.

*Carrying personal identification and emergency contact information.

*Wearing event and weather-appropriate clothing and using gear for your comfort and safety like hiking poles, helmets, life preservers and proper footwear for the event.

*Heeding all safety instructions posted at the venue and additional requests by the leader.

*Bringing any concerns to the attention of the leader.

If you feel unprepared for the conditions, immediately let the leader know that you are opting out. You may do so at any time before or during the event by informing the leader.

Leaders, at their discretion, may ask you not to participate if they believe you may present a safety concern to yourself, or others around you.
