We will be reading Eric Blanc's Red State Revolt: The Teachers' Strikes and Working Class Politics.

The book is about 210 pages and we will be reading it over a ten week period (meeting every other week) with some possible supplementary material.

Please also plan to attend the kickoff meeting on Monday, March 9th from 7:00pm to 9:00pm at East Bay Community Space in North Oakland where, in addition to hearing a firsthand account of Oakland teachers' struggles and a presentation by Fred Glass on the history of education unionism in California, we will distribute books (for suggested donation) and put you into a group of no more than 10 people with whom you will read the book over the ten week period.

If you cannot make it, please let us know -- we will do our best to make sure you are put in a group.
