ANUMC Volunteer Nominations 2026
Feel like you've got skills to share and want to have a more active role in the club? You should nominate to volunteer! The time commitment for most roles is a few hours a month but a few hours a week for members of the executive. The club works best when we have lots of people putting in a bit of time rather than a couple of people overworking themselves, so it's always the more the merrier! Please nominate yourself for multiple roles. Don't worry about being appointed to too many roles. If you get one of the big ones you can pull out of the others.

There are three types of roles we need help with:
  1. The executive are responsible for running the club. They meet regularly to discuss safety, finances, relations with ANU Sport and upcoming special or general meetings. Members of the executive are also members of the committee so have a say about how activities are run. The executive comprises:
  2. Activity Officers advocate for and promote their activity within the club. They attend committee meetings and have a small budget to use to promote their sport. They audit the gear related to their activity and can request the purchase of new gear if needed. Importantly, activity officers also help by scrutinising and approving the safety of proposed trips within their activity according to ANUMC procedures. 
  3. Other leadership roles are not related to a specific outdoor activity and the planning of trips but are very important to running the club. These officers also attend committee meetings. The head climbing wall officer and the head gear store officer have significant responsibility in running the club's infrastructure. The web officer and the EPIC magazine editor help the club secretary with communications. 
  4. Duty Officers do not have a budget, safety responsibilities but are a massive help to fulfil important club functions. These are the climbing wall officers, the gear store officers and kayaking officers. The more people that can help with these roles the better. 

The more nominations we get for roles the better. Please do offer to do multiple roles - don't worry we won't appoint you to too many positions. If you have any reservations about your ability to do the role just let us know in response to the final question and we'll make sure you get the support you need if given the role.

Nominations close on Wednesday 12:00 PM (29th of October) for Executive, Sun the 16th of December (12:00 AM) for the Committee roles.
