Developing Student Voice and Nuanced Arguments in Combative Times
Join us on Saturday, October 27, 2018, to explore teaching argument writing in combative times. We know that there is rarely an issue that has just two sides. However, this simplification of complex ideas is pervasive in current discourse and leads to divisiveness, weakens critical thinking, and devalues multiple perspectives. Hear from practicing K–12 teachers who are using a resource of the National Writing Project called C3WP (College, Career, & Community Writers Program) to augment their own curriculum in ways that respond to students' learning needs. Far from a scripted curriculum, C3WP works to support teachers as they help their students read critically, explore multiple viewpoints, and ultimately, take a stand.

Thanks to grant funding, we are now able to offer free registration. Register now to secure a spot!
