GENERAL INFORMATION & GUIDELINES
*Entries must be student work completed from August 2017 through June 2018. Stories published via online newspapers are eligible.
*Each individual entry must be listed on a registration Form. You may list all student entries for this Category on this Form or use separate Forms for each student.
*Each individual entry costs $3. There is no limit to the number of entries by school or per category. See below for payment information.
*All submissions must be received by June 15, 2018.
*Winners will be announced at KEMPA’s annual Fall Scholastic Journalism Conference in October and winning work will be posted on www.kempajournalism.org/.
*WARNING: All content must be free from plagiarism and follow copyright and fair use guidelines.

ENTRY LISTING: entries must be listed as SchoolName_EntryCategory_StudentFirstLastName(s)_URL on the registration form. For example, if John Smith is entering a breaking news story, his entry would be named: GenericHighSchool_BreakingNewsCoverage_JohnSmith_https://genericnewsonline.org/breaking-news/firedestroysschool. Note: All webpages should also have a byline or otherwise indicate the student whose work is showcased.

SUBMITTING REQUIRED PDF BACK-UPs: Due to archiving and/or problems with broken URLs last year, in addition to submitting the URL on this form, please provide a PDF / screenshot of the entire Online submission. Email to or share a properly named PDF with KEMPAcontests2017@gmail.com (see above for how to name).

PLEASE NOTE: You will send your PayPal payment to kempajournalism@gmail.com but send your entries to kempacontests2018@gmail.com ← there are TWO different accounts for payment and entries.
