United States Fish and Wildlife Service will be hosting an educational workshop facilitated by the North American Lead-free Partnership on Saturday, July 11th, 2026 at the Patuxent Research Refuge, National Wildlife Visitor Center, 10901 Scarlet Tanager Loop, Laurel, Maryland 20708. The goal of this session is to provide information in an interactive setting about the best available science on modern hunting ammunition, compare ballistics first hand through live range demonstrations, and discuss practical concerns (i.e., ammunition price and availability). The event will run from 9:00am-3:00pm beginning with a classroom segment and will follow with a live ballistics demonstration. Please note that the ballistics demonstration will be held after lunch at one of the Patuxent shooting ranges which is a short drive from the classroom. Transportation can be provided to the range if needed.
