This tool is a European project titled "Building up Chinese Teachers' Key Competences through a Global Competence-Based Framework". This project is co-funded by the European Commission. This questionnaire is anonymous and you will need 5 minutes to answer it. You will be re-addressed to a rubric after answering the questionnaire so as to know your current competence level. The results could be used for research purposes, but the anonymity will be always guaranteed since the data will be analysed globally. You accept that your results can be used to this end by answering this questionnaire.

With regard to the establishment of a system to inform families about their children’s assessment results, as well as of their progress and difficulties throughout the learning process, I believe that my current competence level is:
I think that keeping families updated about the student’s learning is important.
I inform families about the learning process of the student and I suggest some ways to establish good collaboration relationships with my students’ relatives.
I inform my students’ relatives about the progress of the student in his/her learning process in non-planned periods of time.
I develop assessment reports with families and with students, so as to come to an understanding about the decisions of his/her process.
With regard to the use of different assessment methods and strategies, as well as of reports and effective feedback on the learning outcomes, I consider that my current competence level is:
I relate each assessment strategy and instrument with each one of the learning outcomes and, afterwards, I gather data about the students’ progress in multiple ways.
I plan self-assessment and peer-assessment activities so that students identify their potentialities and needs, and they can establish personal learning goals.
I use assessment strategies or instruments that have been prepared commercially without establishing a link between them and the instruction objectives.
I believe it is important to diversify assessment instruments according to the specific learnings that, as a teacher, I aim to promote amongst my students.
With regard to assessing the process and learning outcomes, including the means and resources that have been used, I think that my current competence level is:
I assess products that show the results of learning, as well as the students’ process to develop them, taking into account their previous knowledge.
I assess the students’ learning outcomes, their process and the ability to autonomously transfer learning, taking into account their previous knowledge.
I assess some assessment products developed by the students, but I do not specify how these are related to what they have learnt.
I believe that assessing learning process, beyond the result of a product, is important for my students’ lifelong learning.
With regard to the use of assessment with a certifying purpose, including normative requirements, but also with a formative purpose that allows the teacher to make decisions that promote and favour the teaching and learning process, I perceive that my current competence level is:
I gather my students’ opinion so as to establish assessment criteria and I agree with them, so as to make specific decisions focused on improving the teaching process and on giving qualitative feedback.
I explain the assessment criteria and indicators to my students before the assessment process, so as to make specific decisions focused on improving the teaching process and on giving qualitative feedback.
I know about and I am quite familiar with the formative function of assessment, as well as with the role of feedback and the influence of assessment criteria as regulators of the task.
I establish assessment criteria, generally carry out a summative assessment (based on the final result) and provide feedback as in the form of a mark.
With regard to reflection on the own assessment practice, based on a good understanding of the role of assessment, I consider that my current level is:
I use effective assessment practices that I am familiar with and I can determine their degree of accomplishment in relation to the initial objectives.
I am interested in knowing how assessment processes should be and how they can be improved.
I am well disposed towards improving my assessment system considering the orientations and constructive criticism I get.
I identify the strengths and weaknesses of my assessment practice so as to improve it through gathering my students’ and colleagues’ contributions.
