CEI Tutoring- ISEE/SSAT Boot Camp
ISEE/SSAT is the standard test for entrance into top-performing independent schools (private schools). CEI Tutoring offers the Upper-Level test preparation classes (Entrance Grade: G9) for students who are planning to apply to the private school. The lecture on Math and English concepts, test-taking skills, and mock tests are included in this program.

Instructors:

English: Ms. Shah

A Bay Area native, Ms. Shah has and is passionate about teaching in the community where she discovered her love for learning. As an Irvington High School alumna, she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Riverside where she majored in English Literature and minored in Psychology. Soon after, Ms. Shah obtained her Master’s degree in English Literature from Northwestern University, where she specialized in South Asian (Dalit) literature. Throughout her Master’s program, Ms. Shah spent a great deal of time conducting research on communities that are known as the “other” an often marginalized, focusing specifically on the caste relations in Indian. She found a niche for her specialty in teaching and since has worked to teach students how to connect their cultural backgrounds to what they read, write, and learn in school. Ms. Shah is also the winner of the University of California, Riverside, Adam Repan Petko Book Collection Competition and Northwestern’s English Department Best Research Paper in Literature.

Ms. Shah has started to teach in the private high schools in the bay area since 2016. When Ms. Shah is not teaching English at a private school in Atherton, she can be found cooking, dancing, reading, or spending quality time with friends and family. Ms. Shah is eager to share her passion for literature with young minds at CEI Tutoring.

Math: Mr. Sam

Mr. Sam, the founder of CEI Tutoring, graduated from UC Berkeley in Mathematics. He has taught middle and high school math, SSAT/ISEE, SAT/ACT Math, SAT Math Subject Test, AMC, AP Calculus since 2006. He created the TBT Program to cultivate students’ mathematical learning habitation. His SAT curriculum assisted students in improving scores and multiple 800 scores in both SAT and SAT II Math test.

Class Schedule:
English: Thursday, 5:00-7:00 PM (9/7/23-11/2/23)
Math: Saturday,  6:15-8:15 PM (9/9/23-11/4/23)
Mock Test: 3 SSAT and 3 ISEE mock tests are provided. Time: TBD

Fees: $1260 (Single subject: $810)
Registration fee: $30/student
Material fee: $30
