Include brief information about your relevant background, experience and/or skills.
The following list outlines the roles we expect from board members. Which of these commitments do you feel you can make?
Please check all that apply.
Attend scheduled meetings every other month (avg. 2 hours, to be scheduled with the group)
Communicate regularly with the Board and Committee(s)
Join a committee and work independently to accomplish tasks
Contribute to strategic decisions
Respond to questions and requests for feedback by email in a prompt manner
Represent YFP in a positive and proactive way in the community
Contribute or find contributions of funds to the organization
Tap into your networks to advertise events, products, and to raise funds
Read materials sent out before meetings to prepare
Be passionate about the cause and the work that we do
Contribute to polls or emails for scheduling meetings and events
Spend time on the farm and/or in schools with our programming
If you did not check one or more of the boxes from the list of commitments above, please explain below:
Are you able to commit at least a few hours per month to volunteer your time in support of YFP?
Are you able to attend meetings the last Wednesday of the month, from 6-7:30pm, in Ithaca (every other month)?
Do your interests, skills, and availability make you a good fir for independent work with any of these sub-committees?
Outreach & Visibility
Are you committed to helping YFP fundraise during both of our major campaigns - summer and winter - within your networks?
I could also be interested in joining a Legal Board of Directors, with meeting commitments every month, as we move toward independent 501c3 status. (The Advisory Group remains the "umbrella entity" for all advisory and legal board members, but the latter have greater time commitment and responsibility).
I need to learn more first
