2023 EYH Buddy & General Volunteer Registration Form
Thank you for your interest in becoming a general volunteer for Expanding Your Horizons! EYH will take place on Saturday, April 1st, 2023.

There are two types of volunteer opportunities with EYH:

EYH Buddies are Cornell volunteers who accompany conference participants whose parents or guardians could not make it to the conference. This commitment runs from about 8am to 5pm on the day of the conference. Along with being a Buddy comes free breakfast and lunch, a free (and stylish!) T-shirt, lots of fun workshops, and a day of inspiring girls to excel in STEM! We are hoping for Buddies who can represent the experience of women, non-binary folks as the conference has a particular interest in providing opportunities for girls, as they have traditionally not had the same opportunities to be exposed to the STEM fields as boys. However, participation is not based on sex and is open to all.

General Volunteers sign up for specific tasks and time slots throughout the day. Some examples of jobs are: helping people check in, helping set up food, helping participants find their workshops, and handing out t-shirts. After registering as a general volunteer on this form, you will be prompted to look at the available volunteer tasks/time slots and can email CornellEYHvolunteers@gmail.com with your preferences for volunteer tasks/times. General volunteers can be any gender.

Please answer the following questions and submit the form so that we can register you. If you have questions about being a general volunteer or buddy, please email Caralyn Gonzales and Danielle Markovich at CornellEYHvolunteers@gmail.com.

Because EYH is a conference which historically serves girls and now other young people with identities underrepresented in STEM, we are looking for Buddies who can represent the experience of women, non-binary folks, etc. If you have any questions about being a Buddy, or if you are unsure if you are eligible to be a Buddy, please email Caralyn Gonzales and Danielle Markovich at CornellEYHvolunteers@gmail.com
Would you like to be a Buddy or a General Volunteer? *
Buddies are paired up with an EYH participant and accompany her for activities throughout the day. Buddies are typically women (see note above), and must be available for the whole day (8:00am–5:00pm). General volunteers sign up for specific tasks and time slots throughout the day.
