Trusted by over 20 leading Bay Area schools within just three years of our launch, largely through word-of-mouth referrals, Descartes Learning Club (DLC) is thrilled to bring our premium math & logic program back to Ormondale following our successful spring pilot.
Why Families Choose DLC:
Founded by a Stanford alumna and developed in collaboration with a Stanford math professor and a former coach of the Chinese International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) Team, Descartes Learning Club (DLC) offers a rigorous yet engaging premium math and logic enrichment program.
At the heart of our program is a commitment to delivering a best-in-class math enrichment experience through:
1) Classes are exceptionally small (only 3–6 students per instructor), allowing instructors to tailor instruction to each child's mathematical level and learning style while fostering a collaborative, enjoyable classroom environment.
2) Our expert instructors are carefully selected—typically one hire from over 50 applicants—and receive extensive training and ongoing pedagogical coaching.
3) Engaging and rigorous curriculum: We combine Beast Academy (Levels 1–5) and Art of Problem Solving (Level 6 and above), Math Circle materials from Berkeley and Stanford, interactive math games, and selected competition problems to build deep mathematical understanding, strong problem-solving skills, and a lasting love of mathematics.
4) Custom-written lesson recaps & optional homework: As part of our high-touch approach, instructors provide a custom-written lesson recap and optional homework after each class to reinforce learning.

$70 per 70-minute lesson:
- $490 for 7 lessons
- $560 for 8 lessons (if the October 1 class is added)
Tuition does not include Beast Academy books, which typically cost approximately $30-40 for two to three books per quarter. Students should bring sharpened pencils, a ruler, and an eraser. All other materials, including math games and enrichment printouts, are provided.
Enrollment is limited, and spots will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. To secure your child’s spot, please submit the enrollment application as soon as possible and no later than Sunday, August 30. A separate form must be completed for each child.
