Find out what your ecological footprint is!

The present campaign is a pilot initiative from "La Vinagreta", a consumers' cooperative association from Vilanova i la Geltrú (Barcelona, Spain) that carries out critical and conscious consumerism in a collective manner and intends to transform the way we purchase goods and services.

By filling in this survey about your consumer habits you will find out your impact on the environment.

HOW?

The result of the survey will be your ecological footprint, which will be presented to you by showing the total earth surface (in hectares) that would be necessary to fulfill your needs in terms of food, transport, housing, consumer goods and waste disposal.
Please be honest when answering for the outcome to be as realistic as possible.

Please don't forget to send the form by clicking the "send" button once the survey is finished.

Thanks for your collaboration!

Do you want to go further?

With the questions you have answered we have enough information to calculate your ecological footprint! However, we need to bear in mind that in order not to exceed our planet’s capacity, and achieve a sustainable lifestyle, our consumption rate should be sustained by 1,8 hectares of “bio-productive” land. This amount takes into account the Earth’s total “bio-productive” land (areas capable of providing resources) and its dwellers; nevertheless, there are some issues that are not taken into account, like for example: 1. Other species, plants and animals, that coexist with us and also deserve some of the planet’s surface. 2. The Earth's need of regeneration 3. The fact that up to now richer countries have had a larger ecological footprint which could be considered a historical debt to poorer countries 4. The world’s population growth. As the world’s population increases, the available surface per person on earth reduces. And the other way round too. What do you think about it?
