Deep Water Lab '24 Application
Deadline March 7
Notifications of acceptance March 20

Thank you for applying to Deep Water Lab '24.
Please be aware this is a lab for artists who are early to mid-career living and working in the Upper Delaware; Sullivan County, Wayne County and surrounding regions.

The theme of this year's festival is Another Eden.
Unlike other years, the theme isn't a book or an author or a genre...it's an idea.

One way the festival is engaging with this theme is to investigate how gardens and other locations in the natural world can make space for the creation of alternative and radical utopias. But we are not limiting our focus to the garden, we are examining the idea of other edens and utopias across human experience; real or imaginary, urban, rural, digital, fantastical...

But you can interpret Another Eden however you like.

We are looking for artists across the spectrum of practice; film, visual art, live arts of all kinds, performance, audio, dance, installation, to create projects  for the festival that can be created, performed or experienced in non-traditional spaces around Narrowsburg. Previous projects produced by the festival have included a literary themed cooking demonstration, a participatory installation, durational dance performance, video projects, zine making and street art amongst others.

One last thing; this festival is inspired  by the written word, and literature, but it isn't advisable to be "literal" in the way you think about this. But keep it in mind.

We will select a minimum of 2 projects and a maximum of 3. Each project will receive up to $1,000 to develop, create and stage/display their work at the DWLF 2023 21-23 June in Narrowsburg NY with basic technical support.

You can view 2023 recipient's projects here  and here
