Stop Arctic Drilling
Secretary Zinke,

The Arctic National Wildlife Refuge is one of our nation’s most majestic public lands, home to the Porcupine Caribou Herd, musk oxen, wolves, polar bears and nearly 200 species of migratory birds that stop in the Refuge to eat, molt, and nest in route to and from six continents and all 50 states.

Oil and gas development on the refuge will bring far ranging threats to the wildlife and people who depend on the Refuge and disregards the serious biological, cultural and climate impacts fossil fuel extraction will have in the rapidly-warming Arctic.

I object to the Federal Government’s disregard for normal legislative process in opening the Arctic Refuge to drilling and the Department of Interior’s unprecedented rush to complete the environmental review process and urge you to suspend that process. The Arctic Refuge coastal plane is no place for oil and gas extraction.
