The items listed below are the current rules and regulations for usage of the St. Mary - Pomeroy Parish Hall. The rules are not necessarily all-inclusive and may be amended from time to time.
1. Reservations
All reservations for the hall shall be made by completing the online event registration form or completing a paper copy and sent to Maria Monahan at St. Mary - Lake City. Payment of the rental fee, damage deposit, and a signed rental agreement will hold the reservation. NOTE: Only the parish hall is accessible for events. The church is NOT to be entered by anyone during your event.
2. Damage/Cleaning Deposit
Damage/cleaning deposits are required for all rental agreements. A payment of $100 for an event with no alcohol, or $250 if serving alcohol, is to be made payable to St. Mary's Parish. Expenses for the damage/cleaning are the financial responsibility of the renter. The deposit will be returned, or a check will be voided, within 14 business days if the facility is clean and there is no property damage.
3. Alcoholic Beverages
- Only alcoholic beverages (wine and beer) provided by the renter may be served in the parish hall. NO HARD LIQUOR OR KEG BEER.
- Beverages cannot be sold, no donations can be accepted, and no advertisement regarding alcohol being served is allowed.
- No drinks may be taken outside of the building.
- It is the renter's responsibility to make certain that all activities relating to the serving of alcohol is in compliance with the law.
4. Smoking/Drugs
Smoking is not allowed in the building. No illegal substances are allowed on St. Mary's premises.
5. Fees for Use
The rental agreement fee (100%) is due at the time of booking your rental. Please make checks payable to St. Mary's Parish.
Fees:
Parishioner: $50/day
Non-Parishioner: $100/day
Non-profit groups: $50/day
6. Cancellations
All cancellations must be made through a parish employee. Cancellations may be made by telephone (712-464-7614). Any damage/cleaning deposit will be voided or refunded in full.
7. Access
Access to the parish hall for any purpose related to an event is to be arranged through a parish employee and the City of Pomeroy. The parish employee will handle all scheduling and all attempts will be made to handle the situation to all parties' satisfaction. All rentals may pick up the key 48 hours prior to the rental date unless the hall is rented by another entity during that time. No children under 18 years old will be allowed in any part of the St. Mary's Parish Hall without adult supervision.
8. Event Preparation and Cleaning
- The parish does not provide custodial services.
- Do not staple, tack, tape or put command strips on any of the walls or ceiling.
- St. Mary will provide tables, chairs, trashcans, trash bags, and cleaning supplies.
- Renter must furnish all food, beverages, decorations, and paper items.
- The Parish Hall must be returned to the condition found or you forfeit the right to your deposit and future building use.
Funeral dinners have priority over other events. In the event of a funeral, the parish will contact the renter and all attempts will be made to handle the situation of all parties' satisfaction.
St. Mary's Parish reserves the right to refuse services, for any reason, but not limited to, violation of the terms of this agreement.
