The Youth Maritime Accelerator Project is an 8-week culturally-relevant program that connects underrepresented youth with maritime employers while teaching participants skill-based learning to earn fulfilling jobs in the maritime industry. The curriculum will include modules in areas such as professional communication, time-management, confidence-building, problem-solving, resume writing, interviewing and much more! The program includes interning experience with a maritime employer, technical training days that focuses on building proficiencies in Microsoft Office, G-Suite, and Adobe, experiential learning days which includes networking opportunities with maritime professionals, site visits to youth-serving maritime organizations, and an opportunity to participate in vessel operator simulations. PROGRAM DURATION: June 26th - August 18th, 2023. For ages 18-24.

PROGRAM SCHEDULE:

MONDAY-THURSDAY 10:00AM-11:00AM : Workforce Development Training (Virtual).
MONDAY-THURSDAY 1:00PM-5:00PM: In-person interning with designated maritime business (Various Seattle Locations, transportation not provided).
FRIDAY 10:00AM-5:00PM Experiential Learning Field Trips (lunch & transportation will be provided).
