California Public Banking Alliance - Volunteer Form

The California Public Banking Alliance (CPBA) made history with the passage of the California Public Banking Act (AB 857). Two years later, our all-volunteer team and allies pushed forward again, securing the passage of the California Public Banking Option Act (AB 1177) to bring universal free banking services to all.

Now, we’re focused on turning these victories into reality. We’re working to establish socially and environmentally responsible public banks across California and ensure the CalAccount program delivers free banking services to every resident. Our volunteer-led team is also laying the groundwork for a State Public Bank campaign that will build financial power at the scale California needs, especially in the face of a hostile federal administration!
