VT Learning Study Interest Form
Dear Parent(s)/Caregiver(s),

Thank you for your interest in our Virginia Tech Learning Study (IRB 24-1349). We are no longer enrolling participants for this study. However, we have two other ongoing studies you could be interested in.

Our research team is collaborating with the Cognitive Developmental Science (CoDeS) lab at VT on a new Virginia Tech Storytime study (IRB #23-748)! We are looking for children ages 4 to 6 years and their parents who live in the U.S. and speak English. Participation involves either one 75-min lab visit or two Zoom sessions totaling 75 minutes (Session 1: 40 min + Session 2: 35 min). Participants will be compensated with a $25 USD electronic gift card upon completion of the visit. Details are in the attached flier (“VT Storytime Study”). If you are interested, you can fill out this interest form to learn more: https://bit.ly/TaleMate3.

We are also looking for 4th graders and their parents to participate in a Virginia Tech research study (IRB #25-565). Participation involves one 60-minute video-recorded session, either on the Blacksburg campus or in community-based locations in Floyd or Roanoke. Children will complete word problems and other math and reading activities. Parents complete a brief questionnaire, lasting about 15 minutes. Parents and children must speak and read English in order to participate. Compensation: $20 cash; children will also receive prizes during the session. If you are interested, please fill out this form: www.bit.ly/VTMathStudy.

Finally, we recently started the Developmental Science at VT Network. This network is for families who are interested in being contacted about current and upcoming research projects. Interested parents can sign up through this website: https://vtdevsci.cs.vt.edu

Sincerely,
