A fixed walk facilitation fee of ₹500 (per group) is applicable.
Most visitors never venture into the tangled lanes of Varanasi’s old city. On this walk, you do. We begin at the traditional business square and slowly weave through narrow alleys and lively neighbourhood markets, where daily life unfolds just as it has for generations. You’ll step into small shops, watch artisans at work, and pass sari sellers, metal craftsmen, tea stalls, and homes where families have lived on the same street for decades.
As the walk continues, the noise of the bazaars gives way to the quieter, more reflective spaces of temples and sacred ponds near Assi Ghat in the southern part of the city. This area is named after the sword of Goddess Durga, believed to have fallen here after she defeated a demon. Walking these paths, once travelled by the 16th-century poet and mystic Pandit Goswami Tulsidas, you’ll hear stories of faith, poetry, and everyday devotion. Along the way, we visit small temples, hidden shrines, and even a traditional wrestling ring, offering a gentle, intimate glimpse into the spiritual and cultural life of Varanasi.
