Dear Alumni,

We are excited to invite you to participate in the upcoming Democratic Odyssey Pilot Transnational Assembly in Athens from 27 to 29 September 2024. This assembly is a groundbreaking initiative aiming to institutionalize a European People's Assembly, where citizens like you can have a direct impact on shaping the future of Europe.

As an alumnus who has previously participated in citizen assemblies, your experience and insights are invaluable. This time, we are gathering a diverse group of 200 participants from across Europe to deliberate on critical issues facing the EU, and we would be honoured to have you join us in Athens.

What You Are Signing Up For:

  • In-Person Participation: You will participate in a three-day in-person assembly in Athens, engaging in discussions, workshops, and plenary sessions.
  • Contribution to Deliberations: Your role will be to contribute your unique perspective and experience to the discussions, helping to shape proposals that will be presented to EU institutions.
  • Collaboration with a Diverse Group: You will collaborate with other citizens, civil society representatives, and experts in a multilingual and transnational environment.
  • Potential Future Engagement: While this assembly is a pilot, it is part of a larger effort to establish a permanent peoples’ assembly for Europe. Your participation could lead to future opportunities for involvement.

Funding for Transport and Accommodation:

We have secured some funding to cover transport and accommodation costs, but unfortunately, we may not be able to cover these expenses for all participants. Catering will be provided for all participants during the assembly. To help us allocate resources fairly, please let us know if you are able to cover your own transport and accommodation costs.
