Individual Competitor Waiver
[Must be agreed to by parent or guardian if entrant is not 18 years of age].

In consideration for your accepting this entry, I hereby, for myself, my heirs, executors and administrators, waive and release any and all rights and claims for damages I may have against the Winnipeg Scottish Festival Inc,  Prairie Pipe Band Association of Manitoba, and the owners of the property on which the contest is held, their agents, representatives, successors, and assignees, for any and all injuries suffered by me at or through this competition and/or any associated events and activities.
I understand that the event is a public gathering, in a public space, and there may be photographs, video and/or digital images involving any and all participants taken by the organizers, media and others.

Solo Piping & Drumming Rules & Regulations
  1. An order of play sheet will be posted on the PPBAM website (www.ppbam.org), the week of the competition. Specific times will not be allocated.
  2. Competitors are responsible for checking in with the platform steward at least 15 minutes prior to the competitor’s estimated playing time. This is important so that competitors are aware of who is playing and when it is their turn to play.
  3. The judge has the right to disqualify a competitor if the competitor does not show up according to the order of play list.
  4. Solo competitors must adhere to the PPBAM code of conduct at all times.
  5. Grade I Piping: Judges will choose tune combinations for the MSR from the list of tunes submitted by the competitor.
  6. Drummers: Drum Pad, Grade 5 Snare, Grade 4 Snare, Grade 3 Snare, Novice & Intermediate Tenor and Novice & Intermediate Bass are permitted to use a recording of a piper if a live piper is not available.
  7. Unless otherwise noted, all tunes are at least 4 parts.
  8. With the exception of the Adult adjudication only event, all competitors are required to be current members (2024 year) of the Prairie Pipe Band Association of Manitoba or an ANAPBA member association. Non-PPBAM members, please supply a photocopy of your current membership card, or similar proof upon request. Solo competitors must enter the grade designated by their home association and may "play up" if they choose.
  9. No ties are permitted for individual events.
  10. For piping/drumming information, contact: Kathleen Hunt (prairiepipebandmb@gmail.com)
I have read the Individual Competitor Waiver and Rules and Regulations and agree to the terms described in them. *
