Provide the following information for each consigned lot in the ILLINI CLASSIC Hereford Sale on February 21 in Springfield, IL. A $50 (non-refundable) nomination fee is due before your nomination is confirmed (checks payable to IHA).

• NEW in 2020 •
Sale cattle will not be REQUIRED to be on the fairgrounds until 10am on Friday, February 21 (the day of the sale). Due to the later arrival time, this will be STRICTLY ENFORCED. Sale cattle are still allowed to arrive on Thursday.

• General Eligibility Rules •
1. All animals must be registered with the American Hereford Association. Both polled and horned cattle will be accepted.
2. Total consignments must not exceed five (5) head by a single consignor.
3. Consignors must be a member of the Illinois Hereford Association and the Illinois Beef Association.
4. Sale expense will be $200/lot, plus 1.5% with a nomination fee of $50. This $50 up front nomination fee will be applied to the total sale expense and is non-refundable. A stall fee to the Illinois Beef Association will be an additional $65/head.
Animals that are cataloged but are either scratched or a no sale will be charged an additional $200 over and above the $50 nomination fee.
5. The sale will be held Friday night, February 21, 2020 at 6 p.m. in the Upper Sale Arena of the Open Livestock Building on the Illinois State Fairgrounds in Springfield. The pre-sale social will begin at 4:30 p.m.
6. The sale will be restricted to selling a maximum of 50 lots. A committee may evaluate all sale lots after the nominations have been received. The committee reserves the right to turn down a consignment in order to keep the sale offering of the highest quality.
7. Footnotes for the catalog can not exceed 100 words.
8. A limited number of frozen genetic lots will be accepted this year. These could include embryos, rare semen or flushes. Contact Andrew for more details.
• Bulls •
1. The sale will be limited to 8 – 10 bull consignments. If more than 10 bulls are nominated for the sale, the sale committee will evaluate the lots to maintain the sale offering at the highest
quality possible.
2. Age of bulls to be sold range from calves born on or after January 1, 2016, to bulls born before March 15, 2018.
3. All bulls over one (1) year of age must be semen tested before the sale. Semen test results must be in the hands of the sale manager before a bull can sell.
4. Consignors who plan to sell a bull MUST also sell a female. No single bull consignments will be allowed to sell.
• Females •
1. Age of females range from calves born before October 1, 2019, until after January 1, 2015.
2. All females over 18-months of age at sale time must be bred or have a calf at side.
• Registration and Health Requirements •
1. Each animal consigned to the sale must be accompanied by the original registration paper and one copy of official health papers. Please put each animal on a separate health paper.
2. Health papers changed or marked through will not be accepted.
3. Non-calfhood vaccinates will be eligible to sell, but will be noted in the sale catalog as such.
