Mentor sign-up form HOPweek 2021 (August 23-27)
(IMPORTANT) A quick message before you fill in:
Do you want to meet the new and incredible people who will be joining us at Leiden University, pass on your vast student knowledge? Then why not join this year’s 2021 HOPweek as a mentor or crew and bring back the 2019 HOPweek vibes we know and love.
- As a mentor, together with a co-mentor you would be responsible for a small group of first year students starting during HOPweek.
- Helping them navigate through student life in a new and beautiful city
- Imparting your infinite wisdom
- Most importantly having a lot of fun
With the current Pandemic going on, being a mentor in an introduction week might seem strange and given the information we have now, we imagine that HOP this year will still look a lot different than last year. This year, we are working with several different scenarios based on the Government guidelines in August. With the worst case scenario being a HOPweek similar to 2020 (Hybrid: physical & online). However, with more time to prepare we will hopefully be able to provide a both safe and fun week. Being a mentor in this kind of HOP-week will therefore be a lot different too. The focus will be even more on supporting the new first-years in these challenging times and it requires responsibility when it comes to following the Government and HOP Covid guidelines to keep your group and others safe.
Of course, everything might still change for better (or worse), but we currently cannot predict what the situation will be like in August. Therefore we wish to inform you now, so that you are aware of the fact that the format of HOP 2021 might change.
After you have filled in this form, you'll get a link to choose a timeslot for a mentor interview together with your co-mentor. There, we will tell you all about the amazing task of being a mentor.
