Virtual Leap into Science Registration
Leap into Science is a nationwide program developed by The Franklin Institute Science Museum that integrates open-ended science activities with children’s books, designed for children ages 3-10 and their families. The program empowers educators to offer workshops in community settings like libraries, museums, and out-of-school time programs to engage underserved audiences in accessible and familiar settings.
Full - January Cohort 1 - Please select a cohort in February.
Cohort 2 - 2 pm on Tuesdays - February 09,16, and 23
Cohort 3 - 10 am on Fridays - February 12,19, and 26
Upon completion of 3 sessions, each organization (50 total available) will receive a supplemental kit of materials to create "Grab and Go kits" to complement the Leap into Science Virtual Program.
Plus if this is your first year you can receive an educator kit that provides all the materials needed to present a virtual or in person Leap into Science Light and Shadow workshop for the families your organization works with.

Are there any accommodations that you will need during a virtual training?
Your answer
We are excited that you will be attending the Leap into Science training for informal educators and encourage you to apply for one of the Leap into Science: Light & Shadow kits. We encourage organizations to send at least 2 informal educators to the training. However, only 1 person from each organization should apply for the kit. (45 kits available).
Organizations that have not previously received a Leap into Science Kit are eligible to apply. To apply to receive a kit you will need to agree to do the following:
1) Attend all 3 sessions of the virtual Leap into Science: Light & Shadow training.
2) Host three workshops for children & families using the Leap into Science kit and curriculum by September 2021, including an event during National Leap into Science Week (June 7 - 14, 2021).
3) Complete a brief online reflection after each workshop you host and end-of-year survey.
4) Participate in quarterly community calls led by your Leap into Science state leaders.
