Internship Information: We are so excited to review your application for TeenToks virtual paid internship for teens ages 13-19. You can apply from anywhere in the world! The deadline for this application below is April 14th @ 5pm Eastern Time (US) at which time this form will close. We will be hiring approximately 10 interns in total this year for the content creator and marketing internship positions. 

WHEN?
Updated Dates: June 26th - July 28th (off on July 3 & 4)
Times: Monday - Friday from 10am - 3pm Eastern Time
This is a 5-hour per day internship for 5-weeks

*We chose the dates/times of this internship in order to provide the best possible experience for our interns as we dedicate a team of professionals to run the internship. We fully understand the dates and times of the internship will not work for everyone. Please see FAQs below to answer more questions about dates/times of the internship.

WHERE?
This is a virtual position where you show up to work everyday on Zoom and Slack. You can apply from anywhere in the world!

WHAT?
We have two types of internship positions this year (a total of 10 interns will be hired):

(1) Content creator internship details:
-Research mental health techniques and practices
-Write, script, film short-form videos
-Strong writing and communication skills are required
-Creativity and clarity on camera is required
-Tech you will need: a smartphone and a computer

(2) Marketing internship details:
-Create strategic marketing plans for TeenToks
-Implement marketing ideas
-Strong writing skills are required
-Content creation (video and audio) for marketing purposes are required
-Tech you will need: a smartphone and a computer

WHO?
Teens ages 13-19 can apply for these positions from anywhere in the world. 

PAY RATE:
$15 per hour (US dollars); we do not pay for time off. You will be paid weekly via bank transfer; this will require you to have a bank account in your own name.

EDUCATION:
You will be mentored by mental health experts, content creation specialists, and marketing experts. While this internship is hard work, you'll walk away with valuable knowledge and real-life work experience! Your work will also make a lasting difference in the mental health of many kids and teens.

For the Content Creator Internship: Imagine you are creating mental health content for other teens. For the Marketing Internship: Imagine you are creating marketing content that would be posted on social media. Please write a script and record a 45-90 second video pitching TeenToks to one of the following audiences: a parent, a teacher, a therapist, or another teen. Note: We will not be posting this video anywhere, it is only for application purposes. 

This video is an important part of your application and must be provided in order to be considered for this internship. Frequently Asked Questions
1. What if I can't work the dates or times stated in the application above?
In the past, we've tried to accommodate a variety of time zones and time off requests; however, the management team that supports the internship then worked extremely extended hours (which was affecting our own mental health)! At this time, to provide interns with the best possible experience, we offer the internship between June 26th and July 28th (off on July 3 & 4) from 10am - 3pm ET every day. We are looking for candidates who can commit to these dates/times.

2. What if I think I'm a great candidate, but I have other commitments and I just can't work those dates/hours?
We really wish we could hire all the amazing candidates that apply, but at this time in order for everyone to have the best possible experience, we are asking for a 5-week commitment, 5 hours per day (the dates/times are above in question #1). If the dates/time zone don't work for you, we may have additional guest posting opportunities available that will be announced after the hiring process. 

3. Can I apply from anywhere in the world or is this US-based only?
You can apply from anywhere as this is a virtual internship!

4. Are there set hours?
Yes, everyone will be working from 10am - 3pm Eastern Time (the same time zone as New York City).

5. When will I know if I got the job?
Applications are due by April 14th @ 5pm ET. We will send out interview invites by April 21st @ 5pm ET. All offers will be made by the end of April. 

6. What technology do I need for this internship?
You will need a laptop/desktop for communication. You will also need a smartphone to film videos.  Other free software we use: Zoom, Slack, Capcut (editing software).

7. Is this a paid internship?
Yes, it is! The pay rate is $15 per hour in US dollars. We pay weekly via bank transfer. You will have to have a bank account in your own name to receive payment. We don't pay for days off.

8. What if I'm not a teenager, can I still apply?
We're accepting applications from teens only at this time (ages 13-19).

9. What if I miss the deadline for the application?
We won't be accepting applications past April 14th @ 5pm ET.

10. I noticed your app is iOS only right now. What if I don't have an iPhone?
We're using best practices when it comes to building apps. We launched on one platform (iOS) and we're using the feedback to build out on Android as well as a web-based version. You can apply for this internship regardless of what kind of smartphone you have (Android or iPhone).
