ENYF Clean Soil Initiative - RSVP Only
We want to make sure you are growing in clean safe soil!  The Clean Soil Bank (CSB) is a program established by the NYC Mayor’s Office of Environmental Remediation (OER) where they take verified *clean* sub-soils (sediments left by glaciers ~20,000 years ago / mostly sand) from construction sites and make them available for use. We have mixed these sands with compost produced by DSNY and the Lower East Side Ecology Center. These new “soil mixtures” will be available for pick up at:

Wortman Community Garden
Garden entrance is located across from 987 Lincoln Avenue Brooklyn, NY 11208

5 bags max per household and 3 bags max for soil testing.
*each bag of soil weighs 30 lbs.
Please come prepared to bag your own soil (5 bags per household), ENYF! will provide shovels and bags.
