Round the Globe Series:“From ibank to Battlefield: A Hongkonger in Global Humanitarian Work”
Round the Globe Series:“A Hongkonger in Global Humanitarian Work”
Wars in Syria? Saving hostage from Taliban? Working with gun fire? All these seem to be far from us, but our guest speaker, Mr. Jason Yip, faces all these in his work.

Jason is currently the program manager at International Committee of the Red Cross (國際紅十字會, ICRC). As the only committee from Hong Kong, he has spent 5 years in Palestine, Afghanistan and Myanmar under the capacity of an ICRC Delegate; responsible for developing and implementing ICRC’s humanitarian initiatives in the battlefield. He also has experience in emergency relief, e.g. Sichuan’s earthquake in 2008 and migrant crisis in Andaman Sea in 2015. Jason has extensive experience in security analysis and building dialogues with non-state military groups.

We are honored to invite Jason to share his experience in humanitarian work. What is humanitarian work? How is it different from charity work? Why did he join the field? How to succeed in humanitarian work?

It is a great opportunity to learn about Jason's challenging and meaningful experience in different parts of the world. Seats are limited and on first-come-first-served basis!
