In order to support Helix’s goal of breaking barriers for underrepresented minorities in health professions, the following groups are encouraged to apply:
- High school students who are racially underrepresented in healthcare such as: African Americans, American Indians and Alaska Natives, Hispanic/Latino Americans, and U.S. Pacific Islanders- High school students who have experienced economic barriers that are a hindrance to pursuing and completing a postsecondary education.- First-generation college-bound high school students- High school students who have a strong interest in pursuing a career in health
Qualifications to participate in Helix summer program:
- Be available to participate full time for the duration of the 4-week program (June 7th - July 3rd)- Must be 16 years old on June 7th, 2019
The application will consist of general, demographic, contact, academic, and extracurricular information, followed by two short essay questions. Please note that there is no GPA minimum and we do not ask about your citizenship status.
This application is due Friday, March 15th at 11:59pm PST.
Following submission, all applicants will be contacted to schedule an online interview. Final acceptance status by Monday, April 1st at 11:59pm.
