FCHS 2019-2020 Final Grade Improvement Option: COVID-19 Plan *Due by May 21, 2020*
If a student’s 3rd Quarter grade in a 2nd semester class for high school credit is a D, C, or B, the student may have the opportunity to improve that grade to the next highest letter grade (e.g., raise a D to a C, raise a C to B, raise a B to A). The 3rd Quarter grade is what will become the final grade for a class that was taken in the 2nd semester only.

This opportunity is optional and is not required. Students still may choose to receive their current Q3 letter grade (B, C, or D) OR a grade of “Pass” and not have any more class work to complete.

In order to be eligible to try and raise a grade, the following conditions first need to be met:

To attempt to raise a grade of B to an A, the student first must have a 3rd Quarter numerical grade of 85, 86, 87, 88, or 89;

To attempt to raise a grade of C to a B, the student first must have a 3rd Quarter numerical grade of 75, 76, 77, 78, or 79;

To attempt to raise a grade of D to a C, the student first will have a 3rd Quarter numerical grade of 65, 66, 67, 68, or 69;

The student is responsible for maintaining communication with the teacher(s) about type and quality of work that needs to be completed to raise a Q3 grade to the next letter grade.
