These little warriors have a big story on this land and a lot to teach us. The species listed here are abundant enough to share at the time this form was created (late March). The way that I sow and stratify the seeds for germination mimics the natural process that takes place in native prairies and forests around the driftless region and upper mid-west. This means that the temps drop well below freezing and a little snow cover is good for them. I'm so proud of them. Sow & share their seeds with intention if you can.
More species will be available at the Dropseed Farm stand at the Dubuque Farmers Market on 13th street in downtown Dubuque. You can also request that I grow specific species for your goals (I would love this).
Approximately $5 per plant covers materials and a bit of labor, this is not a money-making endeavor (nothing about farming is $ lucrative). Pay-what-you-can and take care of them.
