The 719 Ride relies on volunteers to make the event fantastico for the riders! Whether you're available on Saturday, July 20, 2024 for the event, or if you'd rather help with organizing ahead of time, we would be happy to have you join la nostra famiglia!

Volunteer opportunities prior to the event include packet stuffing, staff early packet pickup at Scheels, visit local businesses for donations, promotional coordination and course prep the day before the event. Event day volunteer opportunities include early morning course marking, set-up, packet pick-up, merch sales, course marshals, afternoon tear-down, and more!

All volunteers will be rewarded with a 719 Ride t-shirt and eternal gratitude! Read on and let us know which volunteer role sounds the most fun to you. Check as many as you would like, and we will be in touch to provide details!

Pre-Event Opportunities - Check all that you might want information on! Times are flexible unless noted otherwise.

Rider Packets: Meet 10-12:30 at the East library on Tuesday, July 16th to prepare all rider packets

Course Preparation: July 19 afternoon/evening - Drive the course with Race Organizers to check for safety hazards or concerns; sweep corners for dirt and debris for safer turns

Packet Pick-Up: 4-7pm on Thursday, July 18 or Friday, July 19 - Staff a table in the Scheel's bike department & distribute packets to cyclists

Discount Partnerships: Contact local businesses to invite them to provide promotional items for rider packets or offer a discount for 719 Ride participants

Courier: Visit local business discount partners and sponsors to pick up event supplies - July 1st - 14th

Club Promotion: Connect with cycling clubs around the state to encourage them to attend (including a discount to club leads that bring a group!)

Event Day Opportunities - If you are flexible, check any that you are willing to help with and we will plug you in where we need your help the most!

3:00am-5:30am: Course Marking - Are you an early bird? Drive the course & place stakes/signs at key turns. Remember the early bird gets the worm, so be the uccello and not the verme!

4:15am-6:30am: Set-Up at Chipeta Elementary - Do you have characteristics of an early uccello? Unload and set up tents, tables, and chairs; Place cones and signage for parking and directions; Unload merchandise, rider packets, etc. Bring headlamps if you have them.

5:30am-8:30am: Packet Pick-Up at Chipeta Elementary - Distribute packets to registered riders, sign up event-day registrations (volunteers arrive at 5:30 to organize packets and receive training, packet pick-up opens at 6:00)

5:30am-8:30am: Merchandise Sales, Chipeta Elementary - Sell glorious orange merchandise to riders and their supporters (volunteers arrive at 5:30 to organize merch and receive training; sales begin at 6:00am)

8:30am-11:30am: Merchandise Sales, Chipeta Elementary

11:30am-2:30pm: Merchandise Sales, Chipeta Elementary - Includes packing up merch at conclusion of event

6:15am-9:30am: Timing Support (various locations) - Support timing contractor in setting up timing hardware; tracking software to ensure cyclist times are being properly recorded

6:15am-9:00am: Course Marshal at one of five key locations along course; direct riders in proper direction depending on the course they wish to ride; hand signage provided

2:00pm-4:00pm: Tear-Down at Chipeta Elementary - Fold down tents, tables, and chairs; Load supplies in trucks; Assist vendors with clean-up. We love early birds but we also need some worms!

2:00pm-4:00pm: Course Clean-Up - Drive along course and pick up all course markings, signage, and stakes
