About Linens N Love
Linens N Love is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that empowers young leaders to develop their own community initiatives. We teach students ages 14 - 18 to partner with hotels, collect their castoff linens, and donate them to local animal rescues, homeless shelters, women's homes, and children's centers.
Our team believes that by providing young leaders with the tools and resources they need to make a difference in their communities, we can create a better world for everyone. From April - December 2023, we are running a fully virtual Global Leadership Fellowship to guide 30 students around the world in their next impactful project — and that's where our mentors come in.
The Role
Mentors will receive a stipend of up to $100 for every 1-hour session they lead ($80 base and $20 bonus), and can flexibly lead anywhere from 1 - 4 sessions per month. We're looking for mentors to teach a leadership curriculum that guides young students ages 14 - 18 to create their own end-to-end community projects.
Responsibilities Include:
- Teaching students to spot community needs, forge community partnerships, mobilize their peers, and create sustainable and socially responsible initiatives
- Collaborating to co-develop class plans that guide students to make a positive impact
- Leading & recording hour-long sessions for the cohort, with a mix of lecturing and guiding interactive & high-energy team-building activities (set Fridays from 5 — 6 pm PST)
- Gathering & incorporating end-of-session survey feedback from students to measure and achieve learning goals
We're looking for someone who has:
- Positive and energizing vibes
- Currently studying at (or recently graduated from) a US university
- Familiarity with Zoom features
- Comfortable with public speaking and teaching a group of 30 kids
- Bonus: experience building a club, nonprofit, or team from the ground-up
Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
